Let the Healing Begin

I can't tell you what a relief it is to have yesterday behind us. Of course you were the best patient in the hosipital (and the best dressed). You had a fanfare from the beginning. One nurse thought you were so sweet that she said, "she's my patient" and sure enough before we knew it she was our nurse. We got there at 9:00 a.m. and were quickly admitted and taken back to our room. The surgeon was running about 45 minutes late but you were having so much fun with the little girl in the room next to us, Annie that we didn't mind at all. We all took turns pulling you and Annie up and down the halls in the little wagons that they provided at the hospital. Once they did call you in, it was a quick good-bye where your nurse took you away in her arms. Thank God no dreaded wheeling you down the halls.

You were being cuddled and held by a very sweet Cajun nurse from Rayne, LA.
I actually held it together pretty good until you woke up and the nurse brought you to us. That's when I broke down into tears, seeing you in that bright pink cast that was tied up to an IV stand for elevation and an IV in your foot. I just hated seeing you that way. We stayed in the recovery room for about 2 hours and then they let us take you home. The Doctor explained to us that they had to put two pins through your finger to keep it stabilized while it heals. In three weeks we will go back to the Doctor and they will take the cast off and remove your pins. I'm already counting down the days for your to be free of that cast.

When we got home from the hospital Liam and Michelle came over to bring you some yummy valentines day cupcakes and a very sweet card. It was so wonderful to see them and for you to get a chance to love on Liam. It really took your mind of the cast. We are truly blessed to have them in our lives.
