The Fracture

Well My sweet little CoCo Bean you have started early. We had our first visit to the Urgent Care on Tuesday night after you slammed your sweet little hand in the office door. You play this game with me shutting the door on my when I'm on my computer then I run over and say let me out, let me out. You think it's hilarious! This time I heard a scream and when I opened the door you were holding your hand crying. I grabbed you and you really didn't cry for long but I noticed your middle finger was crooked. I'm actually surprised I didn't go into complete panic. Luckily your Daddy was close by he had a business trip and he had just gotten back and was out to dinner at the Salt Lick with his boss. We were supposed to make this dinner but in the middle of all of this you have come down with strep throat so we stayed home. He came home immediately and we took you straight over to Urgent Care. After an hour of trying to take your x-ray you just did not like that machine and would now lay your hand down. They came to the conclusion that it was slightly dislocated....WRONG! They Doctor tried to put it back in place after a couple of minutes of you screaming I yelled stop no more. If you don't stop I'm going to pass out. I have never felt so sick in all my life and your Daddy was so pale. I thought he was going to hit the Dr. So the very next day we took you to a specialist a Pediatric Orthopedic where they were able to get a much better x-ray and determine that it is actually fractured. It's 6:40 in the morning and I'm going to go and wake you up for your surgery this morning at 10:00 a.m. I am beside myself with worry. I just hate the thought of them wheeling my baby girl into an OR room. Thank God your Daddy has cancelled the rest of his business trip with his boss and will be there with us. I love you my little Bean more than any words can say. I pray God is with us today and helps you to heal quickly.

  1. Oh Sam. I'm so sorry. I can only imagine Coco's little hurt finger. Worse, I can now imagine the pain of being a parent and seeing your child cry. (I would have punched the doctor.) Know that your family will be in my prayers for a quick recovery for all of you :o)
